Andrews:
Gerald Mixon, 54, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at home.
Mr. Mixon was born in Williamsburg County on August 4, 1949, a son of the late Roy Mixon and Claudia Mae Casselman Mixon. He attended Williamsburg schools and lived in Andrews his whole life. Mr. Mixon worked at Roy Mixon Furniture Company and took over the business when his father became ill. He was a member of the Andrews Rotary Club and was on the Andrews Town Council for six and a half years. Mr. Mixon was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are: his wife, Cynthia T. Mixon of Andrews; two daughters, Leah M. Beaulieu of Columbia and Tara M. Ward of Andrews; a son, Maxie G. Mixon of Andrews; two sisters, Roberta M. Cox and Brenda M. Wilson, both of Andrews; a brother, Dennis Mixon of Andrews; a half-brother, Dana Mixon of Andrews; his step-mother, Corine Mixon of Andrews; two step-brothers, Lee R. Jacobs of Andrews and Kendall Jacobs of Darlington; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, May 2, 2004, at four o'clock at First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul Miles, Bishop Thomas W. Wallace, II, The Rev. Billy Miles, and Elvio Canavesio. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, May 1, 2004, from six until nine o'clock at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
