IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald K.
Thomas
August 15, 1942 – November 19, 2025
Pawleys Island
Gerald "Jerry" Kent Thomas, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, on November 19, 2025.
Born on August 15, 1942, Jerry was the beloved son of Sammie Cecil Thomas and Vivian Buddin Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Sammie Cecil Thomas, Jr.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jerry honorably served his country in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career as a systems analyst with Duke Power in Charlotte, North Carolina, before retiring and relocating to Pawleys Island in 2000.
Jerry was a devoted member of Duncan Memorial Methodist Church in Georgetown, South Carolina, where his faith moved him to serve far beyond his local community through international mission work. Jerry possessed a servant's heart, always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. His selflessness and quiet generosity touched countless lives. He was also a committed member of several civic and veterans' organizations, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Georgetown chapter of The Lions Club. He found great joy in the outdoors as an avid fisherman and golfer.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jane Patterson Thomas; his children, Kiersten Thomas Frost, Kim Hales (Stan), Michelle Dunne, and William Burba; his grandchildren, Pressley Hales (Brianna) and Sydney Hales; and his great-granddaughter, Brynn Elizabeth Hales.
Jerry's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care providers from Home Instead, with special thanks to Suette Mickel, whose kindness and dedication brought great comfort. They are also deeply appreciative of the support and care provided by Crescent Hospice during his final days.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, in the Fellowship Hall of Duncan Memorial Methodist Church, located at 901 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, SC 29440, followed by a memorial service in the church sanctuary at 12:00 p.m.
