Georgetown:
Ginger Lee Player Kennedy, 63, wife of James C. Kennedy, Jr., passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at Roper Hospital in Charleston.
Mrs. Kennedy was born May 24, 1956, in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Callie Eugene Player and Bertie Lee Yarborough Player. She grew up in Georgetown and attended Winyah High School. Mrs. Kennedy was owner and operator of Ginger's House Cleaning Services. She had a passion for painting, horses and relaxing on the beach. Mrs. Kennedy also, loved kayaking and spending time in the mountains. Ginger's life was devoted to her husband, son and her loving grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kennedy was predeceased by: two sisters, Deloris Cherry and Frances Delaine Powell.
Surviving are: her husband of Georgetown; a son, Shawn Wayne Cooper of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Shawn Hunter Cooper and Kayla Paige Cooper; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Jade, Kristgen and Kari; two brothers, Charles L. Player (Susie) of Andrews, and Eugene Player (Tommie Ann) of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be two o'clock Monday, July 15, 2019, at Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Wilson. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, July 15, 2019, in the church from one until two o'clock.
