Obituary

Andrews: Glenda Rogers Ray, 69, widow of Gene Marshall Ray, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Ray was born in Marion on June 5, 1943, a daughter of the late Samuel "Shorty" Rogers and Eva Scott Rogers. She lived in Hemingway prior to moving to Andrews. Mrs. Ray was a former employee of several textile manufacturers. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was a very caring person to everyone. Surviving are: a son, Don M. Ray (Sara) of Andrews; two daughters, Eleanor R. Britt and Sharon R. Ward (Bruce), both of Andrews; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six brothers, David Rogers (Debbie) of Hemingway, Buddy Rogers of Georgetown, Ray Rogers (Susan) of Darlington, Terry Rogers (Susan) of Manning, Ted Rogers of Johnsonville, and Sammy Rogers of Florence; and three sisters, Anda Poston and Linda Baxley, both of Johnsonville, and Vickie Altman of Georgetown. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ray was predeceased by: a grandson, Chad Ward; and two brothers, Tony and Steve Rogers. Graveside services will be held at two o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, April 16, 2013, at Ivey Cemetery. Sign a guestbook at: www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
