Mt. Pleasant: Grace Joubert Young, 90, died Sunday, January 23, 2022 in skilled nursing at Franke at Seaside in Mt Pleasant, SC. Ms. Young grew up in Georgetown, SC and graduated from Winyah High School. Her first employment after graduation was working for the Georgetown Police Department as Chief Fred Nobles' secretary in the early 1950's. Later, she was employed by the State Board of Health in Florida and retired from that position in Jacksonville, Florida. After retiring to Mt. Pleasant, Ms. Young was the Christ Church Episcopal parish secretary for a number of years. Her last position was the part-time receptionist at Franke Retirement Home which she enjoyed as she loved helping people and being among the residents and staff there. She was an active member of Christ Church in Mt. Pleasant and sang in the church choir. Ms. Young is predeceased by her husband, Elsworth Wesley Young. Surviving are: her sister, Carolyn Joubert Coker, and her son, Richard Young (Suzanne). Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown.
