Georgetown: Gregory Phillip Barrett, 90, died Friday, March 11, 2016, at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Mr. Barrett was born in Rutland, VT on April 20, 1925, a son of the late John Edward Barrett and Eugenie Marie Kennedy Barrett. He grew up in Rutland, attended Rutland High School, and served in the US Navy during World War II and The Korean Conflict. Mr. Barrett was a member of Saint Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Club and the VFW. Mr. Barrett worked for many years for Santee Carriers and Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrett was predeceased by a son, Michael Gregory Barrett. Surviving are: two daughters; Kathy Kelley (Edward) and Martha Williams (David), both of Georgetown, two sisters; Gloria La Montange of Rutland, VT, Jean Wilson of Plainview, NH, a brother; Neville "Bucko" Barrett of Rutland, VT., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
