Hemingway: Gregory Leroy Bruorton, 64, died Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Bruorton was born in Georgetown on January 15, 1949, a son of the late Leroy Alford Bruorton and Ouida Mae Lovern Bruorton. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and lived all his life in Georgetown County. Mr. Bruorton served in the U.S. Navy submarine service for four years and was a retired employee of Arcelor Mittal Steel in Georgetown. He married his wife Joyce Hill from Philadelphia, Pa. in 1969. Surviving are: his wife, Joyce Hill Bruorton of Hemingway; a daughter, Julie Bruorton of Hemingway; a sister Karen Mercer of Hemingway; and a brother, Richard Bruorton of Fla. Funeral Services will be eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013, at the Church of Christ of Georgetown. Officiating will be Fred Ady and Sam Soper.
