Harriett Miller, 77, of Georgetown, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 16, 1947, in Georgetown, Harriett was the daughter of Stephen Andrew Miller and Annie Ruth Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chip Cook; her grandson, Harry (Bubba) Woodruff III; and two sisters, Barbara Jordan and Shirley Thornly.
Harriett devoted her life to caring for those she loved. She first nurtured her children, then poured that same devotion into raising her granddaughter, and in her later years, lovingly cared for her mother. Harriett had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and gardening was her true passion—a peaceful space where she found joy and fulfillment. Her days were filled with family, love, and laughter, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion.
Harriett is survived by her three children: Harry (Butch) Lee Woodruff, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; Tommy Small of Temperanceville, VA; and Andrew Small of Georgetown, SC. She also leaves behind three beloved grandchildren: Kassandra Bourne (Stevie) of Georgetown, SC; Chelsea Decker (Mike) of Temperanceville, VA; and Courtney Tilghman (Raejon) of Salisbury, MD. Harriett was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Michaela Bourne, Matthew Bourne, Mason Bourne, and Jaslyn Woodruff of Georgetown, SC; Colby Decker and Addison Decker of Temperanceville, VA; and Amir Lankford, Amari Tilghman, Malcolm Tilghman, Zayn Tilghman, and Kyro Tilghman of Salisbury, MD. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Miller (Pat), along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she cherished deeply.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tish Anderson and the dedicated staff of Prince George Nursing Home for the exceptional love and care shown to Harriett during her time there.
A family-led memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Graves Station Baptist Church. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
The Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is assisting the family.
