Georgetown:
Harry Leroy "Roy" Hutto, 74, died Saturday, October 30, 2004, at the Medical University of S. C. Hospital in Charleston.
Mr. Hutto was born in McClellanville on November 8, 1929, a son of the late Harry Grovan Hutto and Annie Belle Carrigg Hutto. He graduated from McClellanville High School and attended Presbyterian College for three and a half years. Mr. Hutto was employed by International Paper Company for thirty-four years. He was a Forest Supervisor and Research Manager of Eight Oaks Seed Orchard and retired in 1985. Mr. Hutto was a member of the Pine Tree Club and the Quarter Century Club of the Mill.
Mr. Hutto was a member of New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church, where he was a former Elder and served on the Cemetery Committee. He was a Boy Scout leader and Basketball Coach at Archibald Rutledge Academy. Mr. Hutto was also a former Fire Chief of McClellanville.
Surviving are: his wife, Shirley Jayroe Hutto of Georgetown; a son, Ronald L. Hutto of McClellanville; two daughters, Robin A. Poai of Georgetown and R. Sheila Mopas of Mililani, Hawaii; two sisters, Mary Cumbee of Dillon and Effie Lee Johnson of Summerville; two brothers, Elbert L. Hutto of Dillon and Michael A. Hutto of North Charleston; five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at eleven o'clock in New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church in McClellanville. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Walter G. Cook. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday evening, November 1, 2004, from six until eight Monday evening.
