Georgetown:
Harry L. Parker, 82, died Monday, September 15, 2003, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Parker was born in Sylva, N. C. on October 27, 1920, a son of the late Lemuel R. Parker and Celia P. Parker. He was a retired Communication Engineer with Woodland Division of International Paper Company and owner and operator of Parker Electronics. Mr. Parker was a charter member of Wayne United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Pine Tree Club, a pilot, and lifetime member of the Amateur Radio Association.
Surviving are: his wife, Wava Morris Parker of Georgetown; two sons, Harry Parker, Jr. and his wife Alva of Lexington and Keith Parker of Georgetown; two daughters, Sandra Parker of Charleston and Sharon Turner and her husband Joey of Pawley's Island; a sister, Alice P. Stanford of New Bern, N. C.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Friday morning, September 19, 2003, at Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler. Burial will follow in Elim United Methodist Churchyard near Andrews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, September 18, 2003 from six until eight at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
