Georgetown:
Harry Edward Woodbury, Sr., 91, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Prince George Healthcare.
Mr. Woodbury was born in Marion Co. on February 26, 1917, a son of the late William J. Woodbury and Etta Hucks Woodbury. He served as Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mr. Woodbury retired from the Woodlands Division of the International Paper Company in 1980. He was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church.
Mr. Woodbury was predeceased by: his wife, Helen Cannon Woodbury; and a step-son, Gregg Duke.
Surviving are: a son, Harry Woodbury, Jr. and his wife Susan of Georgetown; two step-sons, Thomas Duke and his wife Beth of Georgetown and Billy Duke and his wife Marilyn of Orange Park, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Margie Duke of Georgetown; a brother, Billy P. Woodbury of Georgetown; two sisters, Edith W. Williams of Conway and Elaine D. Hawley of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008, at Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen R. Jordan. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
