Anderson: Mrs. R. Elton Evans, 91, (formerly Hazel Margaret Knight) former resident of Andrews died Friday, October 15, 2004, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson. Mrs. Evans was born in Cades on January 11, 1913, a daughter of the late Nelson Fitzhugh Knight and Lou Esther Nettles Knight. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews and had been an active member of the church. Surviving are: eight grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Truett of Florence Mrs. Evans was predeceased by: her husband; two daughters, Nancy Deanne Evans Johnson and Roberta Elton Evans Willis; a sister; and several brothers. Funeral services will be two o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 17, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald P. Sapp and the Rev. Dr. James Johnson.
