Andrews:
Helen Huggins Kay, 87, widow of Theodore Crawford Kay, died Monday, November 7, 2011, at Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown.
Mrs. Kay was born on November 30, 1923 in High Shoals, N.C., a daughter of the late Lankford Huggins and Lavada Corn Huggins. She grew up in High Shoals and graduated from high school there. Mrs. Kay moved to Andrews from Spartanburg in 1964. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Piggly Wiggly in Andrews. Mrs. Kay was an active member of Andrews First Baptist Church before moving her membership to Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a devoted Christian who loved to read devotions and send her prayers for everyone. Mrs. Kay was the last survivor of thirteen children.
Surviving are: three daughters, Patsy K. Crooke (Thomas) of Simpsonville, Mary K. Tisdale (Larry) and Sue K. Wilson (Thomas), both of Andrews; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at three o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, November 9, 2011, at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Billy Mills. Burial will follow at Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends on Tuesday evening, November 8, 2011, at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church from six until eight o'clock.
