Helen Joseph Walsh, 99, died Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Tidelands Hospital, Georgetown, SC. Mrs. Walsh was born in Georgetown June 26, 1921. A daughter of the late Thomas Raad Joseph and Barbara Nahra Joseph and wife of the late John F. Walsh. She was a graduate of Winyah High School. She was the owner of Helen's Hallmark which was formerly Delta Drug Sundries. She was a pioneering business woman, who along with her husband, owned and operated a successful retail business for nearly 50 years. She spent her entire life living and working on Front Street where her presence is still felt today. Survivors include her brother Dr. Paul Joseph of Camden; her children, Carol Asay of Georgetown, John and Ani Walsh of Cary, NC, Michael and Lisa Walsh of Georgetown and Trudy Walsh of Georgetown, SC; her grandchildren, John Asay (Margaret), Lauren Campbell, Gabriela Ramirez (Louis), Anna Maguire (Cameron), Patrick Walsh and Elias Walsh; her great grandchildren, Rhett and Liza Campbell, Helen and Jack Asay, and Lila Maquire. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased in death by her siblings, Nimmer Joseph, Dr. David Joseph (Rosemary), Dr. John Joseph (Arlene), Zion Amann (George), Pauline Sottile (Vincent), and sister in law Margaret Joseph. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Walsh will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 at St.Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. Robert Higgins will officiate. Following the private Rosary, the family will receive family and friends at the church on Tuesday, March 30th from 6-8.
