Georgetown: Helen Cannon Woodbury, 86, died Friday, December 19, 2003, in Prince George Healthcare Center. Mrs. Woodbury was born in Conway on July 4, 1917, a daughter of the late Thomas Mallard Cannon and Molsie Martin Cannon. She was a former assistant lunchroom manager at Maryville Elementary School. Mrs. Woodbury was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and a member and past president of the Curtis Bell Church School Class. Surviving are: her husband, Harry E. Woodbury, Sr. of Georgetown; four sons, Thomas Duke and his wife Beth of Georgetown, Billy Duke and his wife Marilyn of Orange Park, Fla., Greg Duke and his wife Margie of Meadow Run, Va., and Harry Woodbury, Jr. and his wife Susan of Pawley's Island; one brother, Joel Cannon of Orangeburg; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Woodbury was predeceased by three brothers, John Blake Cannon, Cecil Cannon, and Tom Cannon, Jr. Funeral services will be Monday morning, December 22, 2003, at eleven o'clock at Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Sunday evening, December 21, 2003, from six until eight o'clock.
