McClellanville:
Henrietta Gardner McClellan, 86, died Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Roper Hospital in Charleston.
Mrs. McClellan was born in McClellanville on April 11, 1921, a daughter of the late Henry Huger Gardner and Mary E. Smith Gardner. She lived most of her life in McClellanville and was a member of McClellanville United Methodist Church. Mrs. McClellan was a former member of the Pastor-Parish Relation committee and a member of the women's circle of the church. She was a former member of the McClellanville Town Council and a founder and former board member of Archibald Rutledge Academy. Mrs. McClellan was the widow of Lawrence Palmer McClellan.
Surviving are: five daughters, Mary Louise Dawsey, Laura F. McClellan, Sara N. (George) Scott, and Priscilla E. (Steve) Morrison, all of McClellanville, and Sheila A. (John) Barbee of South Port, N. C.; two sons, Lawrence P. (Patricia) McClellan, Jr. and H. Huger (Michele) McClellan, both of McClellanville; a sister, Ida G. Welch of McClellanville; three sister-in-laws, Priscilla Parker, Ruby McClellan, and Lloyd McClellan, all of McClellanville; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be four o'clock Saturday afternoon, September 15, 2007, at the graveside in the McClellan Family Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Jimmy Harper and the Rev. Dr. Walter Cook.
