Andrews:
Henry William "Bill" Bruorton, Sr., 73, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown.
Mr. Bruorton was born in the Rose Hill Section of Georgetown County on December 18, 1930, a son of the late Josiah Parson Bruorton, Sr. and Emily Barnes Bruorton. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and served in the S. C. Army National Guard. Mr. Bruorton was a retired employee of International Paper Company and a past president of PACE, local union #377.
Mr. Bruorton was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid Clemson fan and a member of IPTAY. Mr. Bruorton also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Spring Gulley Hunting Club.
Surviving are: his wife, Norma Wheeler Bruorton of Andrews; a son Henry William Bruorton, Jr. and his wife Pam of Andrews; a daughter, Lisa Bruorton Jones and her husband Bobby of Florence; a sister, Rudolph Bruorton Collins of Charleston; two grandchildren, Henry William Bruorton, III and Emily Elizabeth Bruorton, both of Andrews; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bruorton was predeceased by: two brothers, Clifford C. Bruorton and Josiah Parson Bruorton, Jr.
Funeral services will be four o'clock Monday afternoon, March 29, 2004, at Earle United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. J. Robert Huggins. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery.
