Georgetown:
Henry Eugene Trotter, Sr., 84, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mr. Trotter was born in Dunedin, Fla. on August 24, 1926, a son of the late William Moise Trotter and Audrey Lyle Bird Trotter. He was a graduate of Dreher High School and the University of South Carolina. Mr. Trotter was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and remained an avid Gamecock fan until his death. He served in the United States Navy. After a career with the Kellwood Corporation, he retired to DeBordieu in his home state. He was a founding member of Plantation Federal Bank and a communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church.
Mr. Trotter was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte Hanna Trotter; and two brothers, Joe M. Trotter and William M. Trotter.
Surviving are: a daughter, Allison Trotter Nation (Charles) of Georgetown; a son, Henry Eugene Trotter, Jr. (Mary) of Columbia; four grandchildren, Hanna Brooks Nation, Charles Owen Nation, III, Charlotte Canada Trotter, and Henry Eugene Trotter, III.
Memorial services will be two o'clock Friday afternoon, February 11, 2011, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul C. Fuener and The Rt. Rev. C. FitzSimons Allison. A reception will follow the services at Mr. Trotter's residence at 3064 Luvan Blvd., Georgetown, S. C. 29440.
