Henry Lewis "Hank" Young Jr, 87, husband of Ramona Heppding Young passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Young was born in Georgetown County on September 26, 1935, son of the late Henry Lewis "Doc" Young Sr., and Hazel West.
Hank was a graduate of Winyah High School and an honor graduate of Clemson College (University) in 1958. He was President of Young Brothers Inc. and worked in the Logging Industry his entire life. He was a Board Member of the Palmetto Timber Fund and supporter of the Log A Load for kids. He was a Christian, Elder and a former Deacon of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. He loved his family and was an outdoorsman who spent his free time observing wildlife and bird watching.
Surviving are: his wife of 64 years, Ramona Heppding Young, two daughters; Lisa Young Swann (Neal) of Georgetown, SC., Lori Young Flaherty (Shawn) of Simpsonville, SC., one son; Henry Lewis Young III (Liza) of Georgetown, SC., two brothers; Joe Young (Linda) Yauhannah, SC and Lamar Young (Sally) of Atlanta, Ga., grandchildren; Richie Swann (Christy), Garrett Swann, Ashley Young, Doc Young, Regan Flaherty, Gillian Flaherty and Owen Flaherty.
Mr. Young was pre-deceased by a daughter, Jessie Caroline Young, two sisters; Jacquolene Gould, Donna Thompson, and three brothers; LarryYoung, Deryl Young and Michael Young.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Georgetown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Georgetown Presbyterian Church on Friday June 9th at 2:00 pm, with burial to follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Georgetown Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.
Georgetown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
