Winder, Georgia:
Herbert Maxwell "Chip" Collins, 61, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, in Barrow Regional Hospital.
Mr. Collins was born in Conway, S. C. on March 8, 1946, a son Mary Louise Staats Collins Doyle and the late Francis Stokes Collins. Mr. Collins was the senior manager of Agriculture Chemicals for Stepan Chemical Co. in Winder, Ga. He was a member of The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and Chemical Producers of America. Mr. Collins was a member of St. Columbus Episcopal Church, Johns Creek and the Winyah Indigo Society. He had been a Boy Scout Master.
Surviving are: his wife, Patricia H. Collins of Winder; two sons, Herbert "Bert" Collins, II and his wife Marella of Dothan, Ala. And Robert "Bobby" Collins and his wife Christy of Alpharetta, Ga.; a daughter, Rebecca Collins McAdoo and her husband Frank of Woodstock, Ga.; his mother and step-father, Arthur H. Doyle of Georgetown; two brothers, Francis Stokes Collins, II of Charleston and David Morgan Collins of Georgetown; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services in Winder, Georgia will be Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at eleven o'clock at St. Columbus Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Joe Green.
The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home , Winder, Ga., Monday evening, July 30, 2007, from six until nine o'clock.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at two o'clock in Elmwood Cemetery, Georgetown, S. C. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener.
The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Wednesday morning, August 1, 2007, from ten until twelve o'clock.
The family suggests memorials to St. Columbus Episcopal Church Building Fund, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, Ga. 30024.
