Summerville:
Herbert "Larry" "Jake" Teal Jacobs entered into eternal rest on April 10, 2014 at his residence. Any man can be a father, but it takes a very special man to be a dad.
Mr. Jacobs was born in Georgetown on February 12, 1948, a son of the late Harbard Teal Jacobs and Annie Geneva Cribb Jacobs. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Jacobs was a retired Certified Welder.
Surviving are: his wife, Rachel Jacobs of Summerville; five sons, Jake Jacobs of Summerville, Teal Jacobs (Sterling) of Tarboro, NC, Josh Jacobs (Jill) of Summerville, Edward Thompson of Andrews, and Larry Jacobs of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Jamie Powell of Hemingway; and Bonnie Woodruff (Mark) of Summerville; seven grandchildren, Bonita Costello, Gage Powell, Free Powell, Hunter Woodruff, Chloe Jacobs, Avery Jacobs, and Lucas Jacobs; a brother, Ronald Jacobs (Sheila) of Bonom, Tex. and their children, Ann, Leslie, Jay, and Darren Jacobs; a sister, Cynthia Jacobs Cruz of NC and her daughters, Loucinda Chavis, Chyanne Chavis and Brandy Creel; a sister, Diane Jacobs of Johnsonville and her daughters, Tiffany Johnson, Roxanne Jacobs Coles, Candy Jacobs, and Rebecca Perales; and a sister, Pamella J. Lowry of Pembroke, NC and her children, Crystal M. Brayboy, Nanci Renee Locklear, and Larry Lowry Jr.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, April 12, 2014, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Daniel Cason. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Episcopal Cemetery in Georgetown.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home from ten until eleven o'clock.
