Georgetown:
Hilda Harwell Anderson, 94, widow of John Manning Anderson, died Monday, July 15, 2019, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Savannah, Georgia on January 1, 1925, a daughter of the late John Glover Harwell and Alma Elrod Rickenbacker Harwell. She grew up in Georgetown County and attended Winyah High School. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved baking, gardening, and sewing. Mrs. Anderson also enjoyed taking care of people, cared for two Alzheimer patients, and was a former employee of Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She lived life with lots of laughter and was a free spirit. Mrs. Anderson was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are: a son, John Terry Anderson (Jane) of Georgetown; a daughter, Kathy Baxley (Bob) of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Shawn Andrews, Marnie Zedick, Keith Anderson (Ashley) and Carol Hall; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Millie Stallings and Jean Thames, both of Moncks Corner.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Friday afternoon, July 19, 2019, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Clide Glover. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday from one until two.
