Hillard Forbin Walker, 93, passed from this life Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Mr. Walker was born in Celeste, Texas on November 28, 1915, a son of the late William Franklin Walker and Nancy Augusta Girdner Walker.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a sergeant in Battery A, 326th AAA SL BN.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Betty G. Walker.
Mr. Walker retired in 1981 from the U.S. Postal Service in Sherman, Texas with over 30 years of service.
Mr. and Mrs. Walker moved to Georgetown in 2004 to live with their daughter and her husband, Betty and George Kennedy.
Mr. Walker is also survived by a son Ronnie (Pam) Walker of Huntington Beach, CA; a brother, Lloyd Walker of Houston, TX; a sister, Elsie Perry of Greenville, TX; a grandson, Steven Walker, currently serving in the Army in Iraq; and a granddaughter, Holly Walker of Huntington Beach, CA.
He was a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Western Heights Church of Christ in Sherman, Texas and served the church there as a Deacon for over 50 years.
A memorial service will be held at the Georgetown Church of Christ at a later date. A memorial service will also be held at the church in Sherman, Texas on a date to be scheduled later.
