IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hubert Logan
Davidson
January 9, 1941 – January 17, 2025
Hubert Logan Davidson, 84, of Georgetown, SC, passed away on January 17, 2025, at Arbor Landing of Pawleys.
Born January 9, 1941, in Norton, VA, he was the son of Thomas Edward Davidson and Thelma Lakey Starnes Davidson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Cribb Davidson and his brother, Billy Edward Davidson.
Hubert spent the entirety of his career at International Paper where he retired after 33 years of service. It was there that he joined with others in the Pine Tree Club. Over the years he was involved in several other organizations including the Ribbon Club, Sons of the American Revolution, and the Sons of the Confederacy.
Hubert was a hard worker that indulged in DIY projects, and he always saw them to perfect completion. He never saw yardwork as a chore because he thoroughly enjoyed it. He liked to golf and was a walking encyclopedia of Virginia Tech sports. He was a proud supporter of competitive games if it was related to the Hokies, but football was his favorite.
He loved his hobbies and was active in the organizations he was a member of, but his deepest devotion was to Duncan Memorial Methodist Church. He served in several capacities throughout his life including being an usher and serving on the Administration Board and the Board of Trustees. He carried out his dutiful servitude by attending the Delegation to the Staff Conference many times. In retirement, he organized and went on mission trips to Montserrat, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica, and Utila.
Hubert is survived by his son Hubert "Bert" Davidson, Jr. and his wife Erin of Valparaiso, IN; his daughter Julia Bellamy and her husband David, of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren Logan Davidson, Andrew Davidson, Rachel Bellamy, and Jack Bellamy; a sister in law Rose Davidson; and a nephew Seth Davidson.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Tidelands Hospice, the staff at Arbor Landing of Pawleys, the Senior Ministry at Duncan Memorial Methodist Church, and special friends Mike and Donna Orndorff.
A memorial service will be held at Duncan Memorial Methodist Church on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 12:00 P.M with inurnment in the church columbarium immediately following. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Duncan Memorial Methodist Church for the Missions Fund at 901 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
