Georgetown ~

Humberto Sanabria Almodovar passed at his home in Georgetown, South Carolina, on February 11, 2024, at the age of 96. Humberto was born in San German, Puerto Rico, son of Uvaldina Almodorar and Segundo Sanabria. He had three siblings; Jose, Evaristo, and Sara Sanabria. He was raised in San German, Puerto Rico, and at the age of 17 he moved to Bronx, New York, where he lived for 23 years.

At the age of 40, he returned to Puerto Rico where he met Teresa Figueroa Benitez, his wife. During their marriage, they had their son, Humberto Sanabria Figueroa, Jr. (Limarie Menendez Rosario) and they had three children, Zaimarlie, Lizamar, and Onix, and great-grandchildren, Kayden, Christopher, and Eliana. Humberto, Jr. moved to Georgetown, South Carolina in 2006, and Humberto, Sr. followed shortly after.

Humberto's favorite hobbies were watching boxing, baseball, horse races, and playing dominos. He worked as a butcher at the local super market and later retired from the county of Vega Baja for the Puerto Rican Government.

Humberto's last days were spent with his family. He always reminded everyone about family values and the importance of putting God first. His family remembers him as great individual and today we're not saying goodbye, we're saying until we see you again.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 20 at 2:00 PM at Pennyroyal Mausoleum Chapel, burial will follow in the cemetery. Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Humberto Sanabria Almodóvar falleció en su casa de Georgetown, Carolina del Sur, el 11 de febrero de 2024, a la edad de 96 años. Humberto nació en San Germán, Puerto Rico, hijo de Uvaldina Almodorar y Segundo Sanabria. Tenía tres hermanos; José, Evaristo y Sara Sanabria. Se crió en San Germán, Puerto Rico, y a los 17 años se mudó al Bronx, Nueva York, donde vivió durante 23 años.

A los 40 años regresó a Puerto Rico donde conoció a Teresa Figueroa Benítez, su esposa. Durante su matrimonio tuvieron su hijo, Humberto Sanabria Figueroa, Jr. (Limarie Menéndez Rosario) y tuvieron tres hijos, Zaimarlie, Lizamar y Onix, y bisnietos, Kayden, Christopher y Eliana. Humberto, Jr. se mudó a Georgetown, Carolina del Sur en 2006, y Humberto, Sr. lo siguió poco después.

Los pasatiempos favoritos de Humberto eran ver boxeo, béisbol, carreras de caballos y jugar dominó. Trabajó como carnicero en el supermercado local y luego se retiró del condado de Vega Baja para el Gobierno de Puerto Rico.

Los últimos días de Humberto los pasó con su familia. Siempre les recordaba a todos los valores familiares y la importancia de poner a Dios en primer lugar. Su familia lo recuerda como una gran persona y hoy no le decimos adiós, le decimos hasta que nos volvamos a ver.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo el martes 20 de febrero a las 2:00 p.m. en la capilla del mausoleo de Pennyroyal, el entierro seguirá en el cementerio. La funeraria Mayer-Ethridge está a cargo de los arreglos.
