McClellanville:
Ila Mae Denney Cumbee, 88, widow of Gus Meldeau Cumbee, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Brian Center in Goldsboro, NC.
Mrs. Cumbee was born in Awendaw on April 28, 1925, a daughter of the late Marion Osborne Denney and Mable Jackson Denney. She grew up in Awendaw was retired from T. W. Graham & Co., a former grocery store in McClellanville. Mrs. Cumbee was a member of McClellanville First Baptist Church, where she served as a bookkeeper and was affectionately known as "Add-en-Up."
Surviving are: a daughter, Mable Ann Thomas (Brent) of Fremont, NC; three grandchildren, Martha Langley (Jessie) of Fremont, NC, Dorothy Thomas (Michael Wilson) of Charlotte, NC, and Rebecca Brown (Eric) of Wilmington, NC; four great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kendall Langley, Delaney Wilson, and Aubrey Brown; a brother, James Denney of Mt. Pleasant; and two sisters, Marie Dye of Mt. Pleasant and Myrtle Eddy of Moncks Corner.
Graveside services will be held at two o'clock on Friday, November 15, 2013, at McClellanville Baptist Church Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Ricky West.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, November 14, 2013, at the home of Debbie Hattaway at 221 Charlotte St. in McClellanville from six until eight o'clock.
