Georgetown:
Inez Matkins Cobb Nall, 93, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mrs. Nall was born in Reidsville, NC on August 14, 1921, a daughter of the late John Walker Matkins and Sarah Saunders Matkins. She was retired from Sears, where she worked in accounting and processing in both Florence and in Greensboro, NC. Mrs. Nall was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church and a former member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, both in Greensboro. She attended Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church for the past six years while living with her daughter in Georgetown. Mrs. Nall served many years as a Sunday school teacher for both children and adults and was active in various circles and other church activities.
Surviving are: a son, Kirk N. Cobb (Brenda) of Senoia, Ga.; a daughter, Sara Cobb Turbeville (Ernest) of Georgetown; a step-son, Wayne K. Nall of Greensboro; a step-daughter, Faye N. Ham of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Anita C. Axt (Thomas) of Corona, Calif., Cynthia C. Southern (Brian) of Stockbridge, Ga., Valerie C. Mallon (Phil) of Fayetteville, Ga., Melissa C. Whitley (Bryan) of Locust, NC, and Gregg A. Turbeville (Lisa) of Myrtle Beach; ten great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary M. Newell of McLeansville, NC and Anna M. Martin of Eden, NC; and a brother, Joseph E. Matkins of Reidsville, NC.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nall was predeceased by: her first husband, Lacy Newton Cobb, who passed away on November 1, 1968; her second husband, E. Earl Nall, who passed away on February 24, 1997; a sister, Margaret M. Shearin; and a brother, J. Calvin Matkins.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock on Monday morning, January 19, 2015, at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service, N. Elm St. Chapel in Greensboro. Officiating will be the Rev. R. Marion Boling. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home from ten until eleven o'clock.
