Georgetown: Irving Henry Stearns, Sr., 93, of Georgetown, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Wednesday morning September 19, 2007, at the graveside in Sampit United Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Stearns served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1933 to 1937, and in 1937 he moved to Georgetown, where he worked at International Paper Co. for 41 years, retiring as finishing and shipping superintendent. He was a member of Sampit United Methodist Church. Mr. Stearns was the husband of Kathryn Smith Stearns until her death in 1977 and the husband of Andree Harrell Stearns until her death in 1995. Surviving are: his wife, Rachel Thomas Stearns; two daughters, Linda Pollard of Hendersonville, N.C. and Kathryn Hyde of Troy, Mich.; a son, Irving H.
