Georgetown:
James Elbert Calk, 79, of Georgetown, SC died Monday May 15, 2023.
Mr. Calk was born in Saluda, SC on September 16, 1943, the son of the late Homer Lee Calk and Daisy Josephine Lott Calk. He was preceded in death by his sister Jo Ann Calk Rodgers and brother-in-law Dennis Robert Rogers.

Jim was a true renaissance man of the millennium. He went to Newberry College where he studied music. He was a concert pianist currently serving as organist and choir master at Prince George Winyah Parish Church. Jim was an American Painter of oils with his painting being shown throughout the southeast in museums, gallery shows, private and corporate collections. He enjoyed teaching workshops. He was a magician with a paint brush, flamboyant with the piano, and masterful in his love for his wife Betsy. Jim loved people. His heart reached far beyond most peoples wildest imagination. He will be missed for so many different reasons. He was God's gift to us and he did his job well.
