Andrews:
James "Jimmy" Carlisle Clemons, 74, husband of Jimmie Faye Brantley Clemons, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Clemons was born April 8, 1942 in McCloud Hospital, Florence, a son of the late Carlisle Clemons and Mary Adelaide McFaddin Clemons.
"Goat", nicknamed by his Uncle Sam Clemons, grew up in Andrews and attended Williamsburg High School. He worked most of his life at R. B. Clemons and Sons alongside of his Grandfather, Father, Uncles, and Aunts. He was founder and owner of Clemons Video until his retirement in 1990. He still enjoyed selling fireworks during the holidays. Mr. Clemons was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men's Fellowship. He was a charter member of Cherry Hill Country Club, where he played many enjoyable rounds of golf. Mr. Clemons served in the SC Army National Guard. A lifelong Clemson fan, he was thrilled to see them win another National Championship. Go Tigers! Jimmy was a loving and friendly person, who enjoyed talking and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving including his wife of Andrews are: four daughters, Melissa Owens (Walt), Vicky Morris Martin, Rhonda Johanning (Ernest) all of Andrews, and Joyce Clemons Fulton of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Mary Lou Moore (Tim) of Andrews and Marsha Morris (Randy) of Lugoff, a brother, Roland Clemons (Denise) of Andrews, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, Thursday evening, February 2, 2017, from five until seven. Memorial services will be three o'clock Friday afternoon, February 3, 2017, in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford.
