Georgetown:
James Parkinson Ereckson, 88, died Monday, August 15, 2011, at Florida Hospital South in Orlando, Fla.
Mr. Ereckson was born in Riceville, Tenn. on September 29, 1922, a son of the late Albert Dennis Ereckson and Viola Ann Parkison Ereckson. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. Mr. Ereckson was a retired Liberty Life Insurance Company insurance agent.
Mr. Ereckson was a founding member of Georgetown Church of Christ. He was active in various ministries of the church and its outreach to senior adults in the community. For many years "Mr. Jimmy" was Santa Claus in the Georgetown Christmas parade and many other civic functions.
Mr. Ereckson was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Lawrimore Ereckson.
Surviving are: his wife, Dolores Ereckson of Georgetown; two daughters, Sandra L. Ereckson of Fayetteville, Ga. and Marilyn E. Jeffcoat (Jon) of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Leigh Waltz (Clint) of Griffin, Ga. and James Jeffcoat (Kristi) of Orlando, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine Waltz of Griffin, Ga. and Alex Jeffcoat of Orlando, Fla.
Memorial services will be twelve o'clock noon, Friday, August 19, 2011, at Georgetown Church of Christ. Officiating will be Fred Ady.

The family will receive friends at Georgetown Church of Christ, Thursday evening, August 18, 2011, from seven until nine.
