Andrews:
James Alton Morris, Sr. died Friday, August 19, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Morris was born in the Bloomingvale Community of Williamsburg Co. on November 7, 1924, son of the late William James Benjamin Morris and Elizabeth Anne Fulton Morris. He was a graduate of Andrews High School. Mr. Morris farmed all his life and for a time also worked as a merchant and a Williamsburg Co. magistrate constable. He retired after twenty seven years as an agent for United Insurance Company of America. Mr. Morris was a member of Elim United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: his wife, Jeanette McIntosh Morris of Andrews; a son, James Alton Morris, Jr. and his wife Yevonne of Andrews; two daughters, Jennifer M. Conway and her husband Tommy of Murrells Inlet and Sandra M. Epps and her husband Michael of Kingstree; a brother, Mack O. Morris and his wife Martha of Gatesville, Texas; five grandsons; a great grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2005, at five o'clock at Elim United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Julius Hadden, the Rev. Murray Powell, and the Rev. Tommy Conway. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
