James Everett "Jim" Watson, 71, died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Watson was born in Hodge, La. on December 29, 1939, a son of the late James Lamar Watson and Dorothy Mae Schmidt Watson. He served in the U. S. Army and retired as a Claims Manager for Crawford & Co after thirty-five years employment there. Mr. Watson was an Episcopalian.
Surviving are: his wife, Anne Austin May Watson of Pawleys Island; three daughters, Riley Grant (Barry) of Greer, Emily Chariker (Chris) of Charleston, and Caroline Burns (Chad) of Austin, Tex.; a brother, William N. Watson of Baton Rouge,; a sister, Jean W. Davis of Houston, Tex.; five grandchildren, Mary Everett Grant, Gracie Chariker, Price Chariker, Mimi Burns and Eliza Burns; two nephews, James Addison and Dylan Watson; and a niece, Beth Addison.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, June 15, 2011, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be The Rev. Kenneth A. Weldon. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home from ten until eleven.
