Obituary

Jamestown: James Ashley Wiggins, 78, died Monday, December 11, 2017, in an automobile accident on the Revenel Bridge in Charleston. Mr. Wiggins was born in Georgetown on January 2, 1939, a son of the late Herman Reid Wiggins and Sadie Ray Wiggins. He grew up in Georgetown and worked for a time for Georgetown Steel and was retired. Mr. Wiggins had a great love for his farm and animals including his dogs. He was very much an outdoorsman an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wiggins was predeceased by: two brothers, Winford R. Wiggins and Herman "Bubba" Reed, Jr.; two sisters, Gloria Cooper and Eula Mae W. Vopelak. Surviving are: a daughter, Melissa Butler of Georgetown; a granddaughter, Lorin Hayes of Washington, DC; two sisters, Janie W. Dean of Pleasant Hill and Anne W. Thomas of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be two o'clock Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2017 at Wren's United Methodist Church Cemetery.
