Pawleys Island:
Jane Everett Barbour, 91, of the Tradition Community, Pawley's Island, SC, returned to her heavenly home on March 4, 2020.
Jane was born on February 11, 1929 to Thomas S. and Marion S. Everett in Edinburg, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Trenton Central High School in 1946 and earned a B.S. from Trenton State College in 1950 (known now as The College of New Jersey). She taught healthand physical education first in Hamilton Township and retired from Lawrence Township New Jersey where she was elected to the Lawrence High School Hall of Fame in 2003.
She was the mother of Marion B. Byrd, Nancy B. Shurtleff and James C. Barbour, five
grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clinton R. Barbour, her parents, brother and
sister-in-law Thomas S. Everett and Marlene D. Letter and nephew Shane T. Everett.
After 15 years of widowhood, her high school sweetheart, Andrew R. Willey (Bud) contacted her and they reunited. One year later Bud & Jane were joined with their families by a committal ceremony at their church, Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, SC.
Besides "Bud", her children and his children, she is survived by a nephew Todd S. Everett and
his family.
This beautiful sole, a heart of gold, quick wit, sage advice, infectious smile and twinkle in her eye; embraced her life of 91 years every single day. She touched so many and all of our hearts will have a permanent void.
The family will celebrate Jane's life in a private service. Memorial Contributions may be made in Jane's honor to Midway Fire Rescue, 67 St. Pauls Pl., Pawley's Island, SC 29585 or the charity of one's choice.
