Pinopolis:
Jane Maultsby Greene, 80, widow of Gen. George Benjamin Greene, Jr. died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Greene was born in Whiteville, N. C. on March 11, 1925, a daughter of the late Josiah Alexander Maultsby and Irene Forsythe Maultsby. She grew up there and graduated from Whiteville High School. She attended St. Mary's School in Raleigh, N. C., and a secretarial school in New York City. Mrs. Greene lived in San Antonio, Tex. for twenty five years where she was a secretary at Texas A&M University. She moved to Pinopolis three years ago and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner.
Surviving are: two nieces, Ann M. Williams and her husband Tom of Pinopolis, and Jane M. Harris and her husband David of Moncks Corner; two nephews, Arthur Maultsby and his wife Susan of Madison, Fla., and the Rev. J. Alex Maultsby and his wife Nancy of Zebulon, N. C.
Memorial services will be held Saturday morning, April 9, 2005, at ten o'clock in the First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner. Committal services will follow at three o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery in Whiteville, N. C. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Samuel Cooper.
