Surfside Beach: Janette Harrelson Martin, 78, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Agape Senior Assisted Living in Murrells Inlet. Mrs. Martin was born in Georgetown on February 16, 1935, a daughter of the late Roy Bell Harrelson and Ruth Sisson Harrelson. She was kind hearted and the most generous woman that was always there for those in need. Mrs. Martin valued education and interests in the World and especially stressed doing the "right thing." With a quick wit and wonderful laugh, she was often called "Quite a character" and will be missed in so many ways. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. Surviving are: a daughter, RuthAnn Martin Aukamp (David) of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, William O. (Billy) Martin of Murrells Inlet; a grandson, Will Aukamp of Atlanta; a sister, Mary Jane H. Dingle of Little Switzerland, N. C.; a sister-in-law, Alice Cox Harrelson of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon, November 13, 2013, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be The Rev. Ronald E. Greiser, Jr. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home from two-thirty until three o'clock.
