Andrews:
Jay "Lloyd" Brown, 74, former resident of Murrells Inlet, died Friday, December 2, 2005, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree.
Mr. Brown was born in Socastee on August 14, 1931, a son of the late Jay Gould Brown and Ruth Elizabeth Vick Brown. He grew up in Socastee and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Brown lived most of his life in Murrells Inlet and was a retired employee of Joe Lee's Landscaping. He was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10420, and American Legion Post #178.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was also predeceased by: a brother, David Brown.
Surviving are: his wife, Jessie Lucas Brown of Andrews; two daughters, Ruth B. Ward and her husband Timmy of Georgetown and Mary Etta B. Michau and her husband Bob of Andrews; a brother, Rudie Brown and his wife Alma of Dillon; a sister, Freddie Mae Hoffman of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Susan W. Harrelson, Timmy Ward II, Joshua Michau, and Roddy Cross; and a great-grandchild, Devan Harrelson.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Monday morning, December 5, 2005, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Randy Zurcher and the Rev. Robert Lucas. Burial will follow in the Churchyard.
