Andrews:
Jeanette Cooper Ray, 70, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, at her residence.
Mrs. Ray was born June 6, 1945, a daughter of the late Walter "Goldie" Cooper and Marguerite Elizabeth Knight Cooper. She was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church and attended Happy Home Original Freewill Baptist.
Mrs. Ray grew up in Andrews and graduated from Williamsburg High School. She worked for M & T Chemicals for a number of years until retirement. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ray was predeceased by; a brother, Walter H. Cooper, and three sisters, Elizabeth Cooper, Virginia Mae C. Fogle and Frances C. Bryan.
Surviving are: a son, James C. "Jamie" Ray (Tara) of Andrews; a daughter, Pamela "Pam" Ray Gannaway (Mike) of Andrews; two sisters, Jean C. Powell (Murray) and Joan C. Morris (Buddy), both of Andrews; eight grandchildren, J. P. Hunt, Matthew Gannaway, Gabe Gannaway; Tyler Ray, Jenna Ray, Nicole Ray Worth, Cobie Swails and Cori Gannaway; and a great-grandchild, Cooper H. Hunt.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 2, 2016, at twelve noon at Sutton's United Methodist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Eddie Knight, the Rev. Murray Powell and the Rev. Daniel Jackson.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral home from six until eight.
