Jeanne Curry Waldron, 70, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, November 6, 2026, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 15, 1956, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late David P. Curry and Nettie Emogene Saylors Curry.
A graduate of Winyah High School, Jeanne was a familiar face and beloved fixture in the Georgetown community. For more than 50 years, she devoted herself to Curry’s Cleaners, where she worked faithfully and eventually became manager. Through the years, she formed countless friendships and touched the lives of generations of Georgetown families. Jeanne was also a dedicated member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church for much of her life, where her faith and fellowship remained an important part of who she was.
Jeanne was truly one of a kind. She had a special place in her heart for children and could often be found at the baseball field, cheering on the youngsters she loved so dearly. She treasured time spent with family, especially gatherings that included good food, plenty of laughter, ribs, and something sweet for dessert. An accomplished Spades player, Jeanne enjoyed a good game with her family, although those games more often than not ended with Jeanne claiming victory.
With her unmistakable personality and genuine love for those around her, Jeanne was someone people simply did not forget. She was a staple of the Georgetown community, and to know her was to love her. Her presence, her laughter, and the many memories she created will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David E. Curry.
Surviving are her son, Samuel David Waldron; nephews, Jacob Curry and Mikey Ward; niece, Anna Curry, and her children, Pierce Shelley and Waylon Smith; a special cousin, Christy Coates; and numerous other family members, friends, and members of the Georgetown community who will dearly miss her.
A memorial service celebrating Jeanne’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow the service.
The Maryville Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is assisting the family.
