Obituary

Pawleys Island: Jennie Mack Weatherly Turner, 97, of Georgetown, wife of the late Frank Tarbox Turner, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015, with her daughter Linda by her side at the Lakes at Litchfield. She was loved and cared for there by the staff for eleven years. Mrs. Turner was predeceased in death by her eldest daughter, Jennie Gustafson of Georgetown. Mrs. Turner was born September 4, 1918 in Little Rock, Arkansas, a daughter of James Neil Weatherly and Maude Talbert Weatherly. Mrs. Turner was a dedicated member of Wayne United Methodist Church, where she participated in the church Trammell Circle and the Curtis Bell Church School class. She worked at Carter's Department Store and as a bookkeeper at Iseman's Drug Store. However, her primary career was being a loving mother to her daughters, Jennie and Linda, and a devoted wife to her husband Frank. She was lovingly referred to as Gammie by her four grandsons. She dearly loved Georgetown, where she lived for her entire adult life, and she was a true Southern Lady in every way. She is survived by; a daughter, Linda O'Malley (Marty) of Albuquerque, NM, a son-in-law, Richard Gustafson of Georgetown, a sister, Betty Holland of Spartanburg, a niece Marcy Morris of King George, VA, a sister-in-law, Lucia Preston of Marianna, FL., five grandsons, Rick Gustafson (Corey Edwards) of Washington, D.C., David Gustafson (Fiancé – Sara Chenoweth) of New York City, NY, Colin O'Malley (Dena) of Orlando, FL., Derek O'Malley (Samantha) of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandsons, Conner O'Malley of Washington, D.C. and Brady Turner O'Malley of Orlando, FL; and a great-granddaughter, Claire Elyse O'Malley of Orlando, Fl. Funeral services will be at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church Chapel, Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at three o'clock in the afternoon. Officiating will be the Rev. Daniel W. Chamblee.
