Georgetown: Jerome James Perry, "Jerry" 79 passed from this life October 25, 2020 to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jerry resided in Georgetown, South Carolina at the time of his passing. He was the son of the late Frances Wilson Perry and Marion Elizabeth Wilsoncroft born in Renovo Pennsylvania July 25, 1941. Jerry was predeceased by his wife Thelma and Sisters Sue Boyd, Pat Jones, Beverly Farmer and Wanetta Cook. Additionally he was predeceased by stepsons Wayne Lents and Michael Lentz. Jerry is survived by his daughters Kimberley Marchelle Trump of Pawleys Island, South Carolina and Marion Jayne Ricketts of Georgetown, South Carolina, Stepdaughter Katherine Burkindine of Luray Virginia and a stepson, Gene Lentz of Red Lion, PA. . Additionally he survived by Brothers Denny Mckeone, Fred Magonell, sisters Kathryn Williamson, Rita Gregory and Kay Rhodes. Jerry also had 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Jerry served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1996. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor twice and also awarded the Purple Heart twice during the Vietnam War. During Vietnam Jerry was assigned to Special Forces "Green Beret". Jerry's military career was a storied lifetime journey of which he took great pride in serving his Country. Many remember him for his smile. He was a Lifetime member of the Owings Mill, Maryland VFW. Jerry enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and playing and coaching baseball and football with his children. Jerry was an avid reader and Loved spending time with his family.
