Andrews:
Joe Thomas Wilson, Jr., "The Telephone Man", son of the late Joe Thomas Wilson and Elizabeth McCants Wilson, went home to be with his Lord, surrounded by family that he loved more than life itself on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was retired from GTE/Verizon, a member of Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a longtime member of Rhems Hunting Club and D' Shed.
Thomas was the best son, husband, Daddy, Poppie, and friend that anyone ever had. Since 2009, he fought the most courageous battle with cancer suffering unselfishly just to spend as many moments "making memories" as he possibly could. He loved Sue, his children, grandchildren, and his entire family and lived to make them happy.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Sue Kay Wilson, and the love they shared was unconditional and unstoppable. He leaves two wonderful children and children-in-love to carry on his loving legacy, Claire and Daniel Grant, and Joey and DeAnne Wilson. He leaves five grandchildren, each of which he spent special time with individually, Peyton, Wilson and Mary Claire Grant and Rivers and Annalise Wilson. He is also survived and loved by nieces, Lori Moody and Jodi Blackwood, and nephews Randy and Brian Tisdale that he loved as his, as well as sisters and brothers in love, Mary and Larry Tisdale and Pat and Karon Crooke.
Heaven gained the best when He called Poppie Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at four o'clock at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dean Baber and the Rev. Billy Miles. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday evening, May 26, 2015, from six until eight.
