Georgetown: John Walker Altman, 60, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Altman was born in Hemingway on October 17, 1943, a son of Iva Thompson Altman and the late Charlie Altman. He lived most of his life in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Altman was a retired life insurance salesman for United Insurance Company and a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are: his wife, Linda Jordan Altman of Georgetown; two sons, Ashley Altman and Charlie D. Altman, both of Georgetown; his mother of Georgetown; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be one o'clock Thursday afternoon, August 26, 2004, at Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Patrick May and the Rev. Themos Cribb.
