Myrtle Beach:
John Belton "J.B." Hardee, 84, husband of Sally Barrineau Hardee, died Thursday evening, October 15, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Hardee was born May 27, 1936, in Andrews, a son of the late Roy W. Hardee and Edna Lewis Hardee Lambert.
Mr. Hardee lived most of his life in Andrews, where he was very active. J. B. was a Jack of all Trades and he could almost do most anything he set his mind too and was a very good painter of houses and cars. He loved restoring old cars and the family would always say "we never knew what color car he would be driving". He was very proud of his time while serving in the US Navy and had many wonderful stories to tell about that part of his life. J.B. was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a faithful choir member for many years. He was a volunteer fireman with the Andrews Fire Department.
Mr. Hardee worked for many different companies, Jamestown Wool, M & T Chemical, Blakeley Brother's Furniture, Phoenix Glove, and was a building inspector for a period of time. He recently working with his son-in-law at Graham Golf Carts. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was well known for his Pileau and Bar-b-que.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardee is predeceased by: a sister, Gail Cecilia Hardee Lambert.
Surviving are: his wife Sally of Myrtle Beach, three sons, Greg Hardee (Michelle) of Andrews, D. Brian Hardee of Myrtle Beach and Mark McCutcheon (Kathy) of Andrews; a daughter, Melissa Eckersley (Ed) of Conway; a brother, Roy Lewis Hardee (Joan) of Bonneau; eight grandchildren, Katie Hardee-Cannon (Paul) of Andrews; Jonathan Hardee of Georgetown; Hunter Hardee of Charleston; Josh McCutcheon and Kassidy McCutcheon both of Andrews; Maegan Miles and Maisey Miles both of Conway and Austin Eckersley of Conway; and two great-grandchildren, Kale Jackson Cannon and William Cannon.
Funeral Services will be outdoors in front of Family Life Center, three o'clock Sunday afternoon at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from two until three o'clock, Sunday, October 18, 2020.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: Trinity United Methodist Church, 205 S. Rosemary Ave., Andrews, SC 29510..
