Andrews:
John Cecil Blakely, 68, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence.
Mr. Blakely was born in Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on February 15, 1941, a son of the late John Henry Blakely and Nealy Mae Wiggins Blakely. He lived all of his life in the Suttons Community of Williamsburg Co. and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Blakeley was owner of John C. Blakely Logging for thirty-five years until his retirement in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.
Mr. Blakely was predeceased by: a brother, Carl Blakely.
Surviving are: his wife, Carolyn Woodard Blakely of Andrews; two sons, Greg (Rene) Blakely and Tim (Denise) Blakely, both of Andrews; a daughter, Leanne (Jeff) Elliott of Andrews; a brother, Wiggins Blakely of Andrews; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, March 18, 2009, at Suttons United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Bob Huggins, Pastor Regina Belue, the Rev. Tommy Cox, and the Rev. Jerry Cox. Burial will follow in the Churchyard.
