Georgetown:
John Lamar Bunn, Sr., 85, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bunn was born on July 1, 1918 in Webster, Fla., a son of the late Joseph Stone Bunn and Maggie May Fussell Bunn. He served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II. Mr. Bunn owned and operated a Texaco Service Station for many years and retired from the State of S. C. Parole and Probation Board. Mr. Bunn was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6444, Winyah Lodge #40, Ancient FreeMasons, and the Omar Shrine Temple. He was a Charter Member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Men, and a former chairperson of Evangelism. Mr. Bunn was the widower of Myrtle Richbourg Bunn.
Surviving are: a son, John L. Bunn, Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Ruthie B. Dugan of Georgetown and Dolly B. Shealy of Chapin; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, March 16, 2004, at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Leonhardt. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Monday afternoon, March 15, 2004, from six until eight o'clock.
