Charleston:
John Franklin Taylor Jr., 88, of Georgetown S.C. who resided in West Ashley of Charleston S.C. died Monday December 28, 2020 at his residence of Ashley Park Retirement Community. Mr. Taylor was born in Cortland, NY, a son of the late John Franklin Taylor, Sr. and Bennie Mae McCaskill Taylor and lived in Homer New York. After a short time in Homer New York Mr. Taylor moved with his father, mother, and family to Gresham S.C. After Living in Gresham S.C., they moved to Georgetown. His mother owned/operated Taylor's Grocery Store on Highmarket Street in Georgetown S.C.
Mr. Taylor went to Winyah High School, worked at Iseman's Drug Co., He worked for Georgetown Telephone Company, GTE, as a pole climber and switchman and retired in 1987, He was in H q. Battery 248th F.A Georgetown S.C Unit of the S.C. National Guard, he retired after 45 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor is predeceased by his daughter Julia Dawn Taylor.
Surviving are his two sons John Franklin Taylor III, Wife Marcy Moody Taylor, and William M. Taylor, Wife Jennifer Gagne Taylor, Six grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews

Graveside services was eleven o'clock Saturday January 23, 2021, at the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
