Andrews:
John Walter Turner, 76, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at his residence in Williamsburg Co.
Mr. Turner was born in Nesmith on May 21, 1932, a son of Gordon Benjamin Turner and Claudia Salone Nesmith Turner. Mr. Turner retired from Oneita Manufacturing Company after thirty years of employment.
Mr. Turner was predeceased by a son, John "Toot" Laurice Turner and two sisters, Dorothy T. Thomas and Mary Ann Mayfield.
Surviving are: his wife, Mary Faye Newton Turner of Andrews; four sons, Jerry Turner (Tammy) of Andrews, Ricky Turner (Dorothy) of Georgetown, and John Newton and William Foxworth, both of Andrews; two daughters, Louise Cooper (LaVerne) of Johnsonville and Mary Taylor (Ricky) of Andrews; two brothers, David D. Turner and Gene Allen Turner, both of Andrews; a sister, Beatrice T. Eaddy of Johnsonville; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at three o'clock at Crossroads Ministries of Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Timmy Goodwin and the Rev. John W. Casselman. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
