Andrews: John Walter Turner, 76, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at his residence in Williamsburg Co. Mr. Turner was born in Nesmith on May 21, 1932, a son of Gordon Benjamin Turner and Claudia Salone Nesmith Turner. Mr. Turner retired from Oneita Manufacturing Company after thirty years of employment. Mr. Turner was predeceased by a son, John "Toot" Laurice Turner and two sisters, Dorothy T. Thomas and Mary Ann Mayfield. Surviving are: his wife, Mary Faye Newton Turner of Andrews; four sons, Jerry Turner (Tammy) of Andrews, Ricky Turner (Dorothy) of Georgetown, and John Newton and William Foxworth, both of Andrews; two daughters, Louise Cooper (LaVerne) of Johnsonville and Mary Taylor (Ricky) of Andrews; two brothers, David D. Turner and Gene Allen Turner, both of Andrews; a sister, Beatrice T. Eaddy of Johnsonville; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at three o'clock at Crossroads Ministries of Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Timmy Goodwin and the Rev. John W. Casselman.
