Andrews:
John Harvey Wilson, Sr., 76, longtime resident of Georgetown, died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Wilson was born in Georgetown on September 20, 1929, son of the late Covington "Cub" Lee Wilson and Rosa Lee Lambert Wilson. He was a retired civil service worker.
Mr. Wilson served in the S. C. National Guard and was a disabled decorated veteran of the regular Army in the Korean Conflict. He was a past Post Commander and Adjutant of American Legion Post #114 and a past Vice Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6444. Mr. Wilson served as Executive Officer of the Georgetown Civil Air Patrol for a short time and also as a Lieutenant with the Auxiliary Police of the City of Georgetown for several years.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and the church's Golden Youth Sunday School Class and Men's Fellowship. He served his church as an usher for many years. Mr. Wilson was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Mr. Wilson was predeceased by: his wife, Myrtis Lee Lambert Wilson; and a brother, James Leon Wilson.
Surviving are: three daughters, Sherrill Lynn Wilson and Pamela Wrenn Taylor, both of Andrews, and Jennifer Suzette Hayes of Georgetown; two sons, John H. Wilson, Jr. and James C. Wilson, Sr., both of Georgetown; two sisters, Mary Edna W. Cook of Guttenburg, Ia. and Barbara W. Jones of Georgetown; sixteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, November 9, 2005, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness. Officiating will be the Rev. Clide E. Glover and the Rev. James L. May. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex in Georgetown.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, Tuesday evening, November 8, 2005, from six until eight.
